Pasqal Expands Access to Quantum Computing Capabilities

New integration with Microsoft Azure Quantum’s cloud service delivers extended access to Pasqal’s neutral-atom quantum computers

Paris, France – March 13, 2025Pasqal, a global leader in neutral-atom quantum computing, today announced an integration with Microsoft’s services that will render cloud-based access to Pasqal’s technology. Now, customers of the Microsoft Azure Quantum cloud service can leverage Pasqal’s quantum computer, which uses neutral-atom technology and offers a range of analog quantum computational capabilities to solve complex computing issues. This opportunity enables wider accessibility of quantum technology through the Azure cloud.

The demand for quantum computing is increasing as more enterprises seek solutions for the limitations of traditional computing, including speed, accuracy, and energy efficiency. Quantum computing offers unprecedented pace and problem-solving capabilities, making it ideal for data-intensive tasks, such as optimizing processes and operating generative AI models. Unfortunately, enterprises looking to use quantum computing might face some barriers to entry, including high infrastructure costs.

By offering access via the cloud, Pasqal is empowering enterprise research and development teams to explore quantum computing without heavy upfront investments. This provides end users a range of new analog quantum computational capabilities that are not possible with alternative types of quantum processors. Unlike traditional quantum computing integrations, Pasqal’s neutral-atom technology offers scalability and energy efficiency, which are complemented by Microsoft Azure’s unified, open cloud ecosystem to empower customers with a diverse selection of quantum hardware, software, and solutions.

“The continued collaboration between Pasqal and Microsoft is driven by a shared mission to pioneer a new kind of computing by democratizing access to quantum technologies,” said Loïc Henriet, co-CEO of Pasqal. “Pasqal is the first neutral-atom quantum computer on Microsoft Azure’s cloud service, a recognition of the robust technology we have built and are continuously improving according to an ambitious roadmap for quantum advantage.”
